Whether we like it or not, the world will eventually run out of oil. This means that were going to have to find a new way to power the cars that we love so much.
So……. Where do you think the automotive industry should go both in the short term and long term?

In the short term, I think that there needs to be a combination of hybrid vehicles and petrol/diesel powered cars whilst the infrastructure is built hydrogen powered vehicles is produced. I also feel that the composition of the fuel needs to change with a greater proportion of the fuel being bio-fuel (currently 5% in every fuel) as it reduces overall (burning and production) CO2 emissions.
I personally feel that hydrogen powered vehicles are the cars of the future as it removes the range limit of the electric powered vehicles.

Hydrogen is favourable over electric, I would agree. But to my knowledge, Hydrogen cars are still electric.
Personally, I think there has to be another substance that can be used within an internal combustion engine.

It can be used to create electricity in the car to make a motor go but hydrogen can also be used in a internal combustion engine. So it'll start of being combustion engine and head towards the fuel cell further along in the future as its more efficient but currently more expensive as well.
